Welcome to Mr. Roberts' Homepage:
During the Week of 10/19 - 10/23, we will be focusing our attention on the following academic objectives:
MATH-
Finding missing numbers in subtraction problems; Comparing numbers; Adding Three-Digit Numbers. Students will create and solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, using paper and pencil, estimation, mental computation, and calculators. (ASOL: M-CE 20; SOL 5.3)
LANGUAGE ARTS-
Developing a Descriptive Paragraph utilizing the 5 Steps of the Writing Process. We are completing the Revising & Editing stages, and nearing the Publishing stage. Once we have added and/or clarified the content information, and made corrections in grammar & punctuation, we will re-write our final draft incorporating these changes. Afterwards, we will evaluate our writing piece according to a Descriptive Writing Rubric.
READING-
We will use Word Imaging and Visualizing/Verbalizing strategies to improve comprehension & understanding of selected fictional and nonfictional reading passages. The students will read with fluency and accuracy within the identified zones of proximal development.
